The earth is rich with resources, therefore, over time we have become complacent and have gotten to a stage where the earth is 1, running out of certain resources and 2, feeling the effects of bad resource management (e.g. pollution). As we live here we had better work out a way to stop and reverse the bad effects we are currently contributing to. This will probably not happen unless some fundamental principles are rethought.
The solution of course to all the worlds problems is to use petro-chemicals and crude oil for non disposable materials and not to combust inefficiently. There are other ways of powering the worlds transport needs and car fleet.
Many things, use resources sparingly (to be fair, not many people care enough to make a drastic impact yet) and use your car as little as possible. The average distance traveled by a private car in Australia is 6.6km (Aussie Bureau of stats). This means a car is not necessary to use for all local area transport.
We sell electric local area transport. Plug your unit in, don't fill up with petrol, make no noise, no fumes, no vibrations, no oil leaks, no smells or risk of fire - all these add up to pure convenience and a very low running cost.
From the Powerped Raptor to the Currie Electrodrive - an electric kit which bolts onto any normal bike, we have some really good options.
