HAVE YOU HEARD OF ELECTRIC RACING???

The popular belief is that Petrol engines are the only thing competitive in racing. In many cases the opposite is true. If you compare the torque curves of an internal combustion engine (ICE) vs an electric motor you will find an electric motor is ideally suited to off the line acceleration. This means you get power out of corners - lots of power, much more than an equivalent ICE.

The School Electric Vehicle Race

In Victoria and other parts of Australia many schools compete in RACV breakout and other races. These have been established to promote new technology and encourage students to learn more about the benefits of elctric transport.

There are three main categories: Pedal power only, Pedal/Electric or Petrol/Electric and Electric/Petrol.
